Lovely stay, we will be back, probably in the Spring.
Fly-drive option to be thoroughly recommended. Pre-booked car hire on the
web and collecting it was a doddle. One hour later we were at La Vieille Ferme:
so relaxing, so tranquil, so much to see and do. Angela & Derek have obviously
worked very hard to make it a wonderful place to stay. We'll be back!
As we arrived the location looked fine,
We were ready to indulge in two weeks of wine.
Chateaux et restaurants really did it for me,
As they're all in the near vicinity.
Going to vineyards can be bliss,
So you may as well try 'Domaine de Ris'
Buzzards and kestrels we saw at least twice
Some would say it's a 'twitcher's paradise'
From all in the Stable we raise you a toast

The Old Diary was booked as my 50th Birthday present and what a present it was!! Wonderful from start to finish. Lovely place, lovely people. Thank you Derek and Angela
A wonderful, peaceful oasis in the middle of France. Totally relaxing with care and attention to every detail. Hard to move away from, so we shall simply have to come back again!
Enjoyed our visit very much and 2 weeks is not enough! The hospitality was superb and the house very comfortable. We can recommend the 'Relais du Berry' at Flere-la-Riviere for a superb gastronomic evening or Sunday lunch. Hope to visit again soon.
A relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A great location for our first overseas experience with the children. The pool was much appreciated as was the barn for barbecues.
A super stay, we were made to feel very welcome. Angela and Derek know just the perfect balance of hospitality. Our house had everything we could need and we had great fun watching the lizards and swallows. A lovely spot just to sit and paint too.
Marvellous – 3 weeks and still not enough. Thank you Angela and Derek. Your hospitality was refreshing, your property something to be proud of. It looks like we will be back for more.

We have been here several times. Every time a winner! Swimming pool wonderfully cool, clean and refreshing after the lovely weather. We will undoubtedly come again!
We were warned about Derek and Angela but we ignored it! Fortunately, it was all true - lovely couple, warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent accommodation. First of many visits.

We booked in for 2 days and stayed for 5. That surely must say something for Angela & Derek's hospitality and the standard of comfort offered by the gites. Thank you both for a wonderful stay. We look forward to returning.

This is the ideal place to unwind. If you arrive stressed, you will leave having had the best massage in the world.

La Vieille Ferme - if gites were awarded stars, this deserves at least 5. We arrived on a wet, cool day with our ordered supper laid out and a log fire lit, plus the best welcome package ever. Nothing seems too much trouble to make your guests feel welcome.

Great hospitality. Plenty of good "birding". I am more than pleased to recommend this venue for any bird or butterfly watchers or nature lovers.

Relaxing is certainly the word! We've had a great two weeks in safe and comfortable surroundings, with lovely hosts. The gite was excellent and we've stayed in quite a few!!

Our 2nd visit! Even better than the first. Lovely weather, the Dairy lovely too! Only the Stable and the Grange to try on our 3rd and 4th visits! Nature walks worth doing, lots to see. Reluctantly, we return to the UK but at least we are well rested, de-stressed and have sampled lots of local wines! Angela and Derek, we will return again and again.

Dear Mr and Mrs French. May we thank you for a wonderful holiday. Our stay in The Farmhouse rates as one of the very best gite holidays ever. Your hospitality and accommodation was first class. Staying here is like staying with family (without the inter-generational fighting and sibling rivalry, of course!) Derek and Angela are simply too nice, they need to "buck up" their ideas and get nasty - this is business (isn't it??). All in all a fantastic time - bit worried about Derek's sense of humour though! We'll be back!
